Mayor de Blasio had to make a quick trip home from his vacation in Canada earlier this month; then, to return to his summer break, he flew in an NYPD counterterrorism plane normally used to scan New York Harbor for radioactive container ships. This isn’t the first time that de Blasio has commandeered assets from the city fleet for personal jaunts. In light of his frequent claims about upholding high ethical standards, though, he should exercise more prudence.

  1. Climate: The mayor has sued five major oil producers for their supposed role in causing climate change, yet he continues to take a caravan of SUVs to Brooklyn every day so that he can use his “neighborhood” gym. Read more.

“The New York City Economic Development Corp. said Monday that as part of the plan, dubbed Freight NYC, it would invest $65 million in improving maritime shipping structures, including the addition of more barge terminals throughout the city.
